My Personal LOW Cost GUEST Bathroom Update....

Hellllllooooo New Millenium – Wood cornice with crown molding added to tub area too
STEP BY STEP
STEP 1 - Change cabinet finish /color (ESPECIALLY if they are pickled oak, as mine were). I chose Ralph Lauren Polo Mallet White. I used Scott, with Fresh Coat Spray Painting, 636-262-2135. To paint cabinets in BOTH baths this color.
STEP 2 – Remove carpeting, today’s buyers don’t like it, we installed Congoleum Dura-Ceramic, 15inch tiles, on diagonal. Bisque Stone tile with Ivory Grout in BOTH baths. Cost was about $1100 total. This tile is warmer under foot than ceramic and the oversized tiles give an upscale look! Tile done by Eric Potts, First Class Flooring, 314-581-4857.
STEP 3 - New cabinet hardware - switch from white to bronze. Bought in bulk at Home Depot in 10 pc pkg. 10 knobs or 10 handles for $18.99.
STEP 4 - Changed light fixture to non-brass finish. Added an uplight between mirrors to highlight the vaulted ceiling in the Master. Master Bath, over mirror lights $48 each & sconce $34. Hall bath above mirror $48. All from Lowes. New lighting & electrical done by Doug Linn, D&M Remodeling, 636-544-8291.
STEP 5 – Removed plate glass mirror(s). I have someone that can do this for you if you don’t want to keep it, they’ll take it down & take it away for you to use in a re-hab job! Call me! Added framed single mirrors, ALL from Old Tyme Pottery in Florissant, $39 each including the guest bathroom!
STEP 6 - Window treatment added in more natural tones with beaded edging.
STEP 7 - Painted walls the NEWEST neutral color, Sherwin Williams Nomadic Desert SW 6107.
STEP 8 - Added cornice with crown molding above tub opening in hall guest bath. Did this MYSELF when Kirk was out of town. Took measurements to Home Depot & had them cut everything for me! Power tools would have been too risky! Painted it white to match the trim. Cost was about $35.
Also.......if your home has the pickled oak cabinets throughout, as mine did. I had the laundry room painted Ralph Lauren Polo Mallet White also. Adding a glaze to cabinets DOUBLES the price, so I chose to keep the pizzazz in the kitchen.
